Look for God today in a place or circumstance where you have not seen God before. Jim Manney

Not a Medium member. No problem. You can read the entire piece at https://dasis.medium.com/god-is-not-absent-ask-a-peach-2e2eead38d1f

if God is in and of
with and through
every bite and bump of creation
how could God be absent?
Where would God go?

13.8 billion year old dust
conformed informed reformed
nothing new
nothing lost
every detail written with divine signature

like stars we are born
like stars we die
rain bathes blooming orchard
breeds peaches
feeds me and every creeping thing

washing rocks
wetting my song
flaming my curiosity
I stand at the edge of what I see
looking at Mystery I call God

Jim Manney’s quote is found in today’s selection in An Ignatian Book of Days by Jim Manney, SJ, a series of daily reflections from the Spiritual Wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Throughout the book we hear the voices of St. Ignatius as well as many great thinkers and writers, long gone and present day, each uniquely revealing the way of finding God in all things. And that is my intention; to find God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality in whatever presents itself to me each day in 2024.

Each day I read, reflect and write on the selection, hoping to articulate the ways in which I come to know God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality via personal experience, impelled by the leading of my inner life.
