A Great Generosity : smiling creation
What is of most avail in all prayer is great generosity in surrendering to God all our powers and operations, and all that we are and also hope…
Jerome Nadal, SJ
Every day before I begin writing I pray this prayer, hoping with all my heart to mean it.
St. Ignatius’ Suscipe
Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, understanding, my entire will,
all that I have and call my own
You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.
Do with it as you will.
Give me only Your love and Your grace,
that is enough for me.
Every day the Infinite Generosity that I call God
delights and surprises me with words
my wee self could never conjure.
Every stone, every sunrise, every sibling, every scorpion
is Infinite Generosity smiling.
Words, through Debra Asis, by the grace of Infinite Generosity

The Spiritual Exercise quote is found in Sunday’s selection in An Ignatian Book of Days by James Martin, SJ, a series of daily reflections from the Spiritual Wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Throughout the book we hear the voices of St. Ignatius as well as many great thinkers and writers, long gone and present day, each uniquely revealing the way of finding God in all things. And that is my intention; to find God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality in whatever presents itself to me each day in 2024.
Each day I read, reflect and write on the selection, hoping to articulate the ways in which I come to know God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality via personal experience, impelled by the leading of my inner life.
