Take A Risk : reliving my self
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come”
And let everyone who hears say, “Come”
And let everyone who is thirsty come.
Let anyone who wishes take the water of life as gift.
Revelation 22.17
dare I lay away
memory knowledge judgment?
dare I in emptiness stay
learn to see hear know be
newly?
reliving my self
of my mother wit
by Spirit’s murmur
I hear
newly
reliving my self
of worldly composure
by Spirit’s ken
I see
newly
reliving my self
of comprehension
by Spirit’s acumen
I know
newly
reliving my self
of my self
by Spirit’s subsistence
I be
newly
dare I lay away
memory knowledge judgment?
dare I in emptiness stay
learn to see hear know be
newly?

The Biblical quote is found in Sunday’s selection in An Ignatian Book of Days by James Martin, SJ, a series of daily reflections from the Spiritual Wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Throughout the book we hear the voices of St. Ignatius as well as many great thinkers and writers, long gone and present day, each uniquely revealing the way of finding God in all things. And that is my intention; to find God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality in whatever presents itself to me each day in 2024.
Each day I read, reflect and write on the selection, hoping to articulate the ways in which I come to know God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality via personal experience, impelled by the leading of my inner life.
