Staking Your Life On God: a new psalm 68

“When the Almighty scattered kings there, snow fell on Zalmon.” Ps 68.14

Let the sea in your belly be still

The storm in your head be silent.

God is faithful

You can stake your life on it.

Snow falls on every blade and broken bone.

Angels sing, “Live without fear.

The hand of Holiness is here.”

You can stake your life on it.

In the belly of the whale

Angels soothe sinners and lovers

death dealers and deranged.

You can stake your life on it.

Snow covers

Twisted bodies of traitors and tycoons.

No thing is not rapt

In God’s faithfulness.

You can stake your life on it.
