every blessed blade and bunch
is a fair finger finding
beauty beyond being held
in eternity

Prophets and artists plumb beauty to make their souls visible. Rare words and well wrought artwork open the way to beauty born in the depths of being, you and me.

To be clear, here I use the word ‘beauty’ as a transcendental; that through which ‘truth’ and ‘goodness’ may be known. The trouble is, when I try to write about it, beauty flees from my fingertips, hiding in ice crystal clouds, thundering possibility.

And there we have it. Beauty breaks me open to something more that I both know and know not yet. Beauty’s unsought showings, knowings, revelations and epiphanies evoke my wonder, stoke my awe. Then like wind whirled banners, awe and wonder put me on notice.

“Wake up. Beauty’s prophetic tempest is tumbling. Truth and goodness are near. Be still. Your soul seeks to be seen.”

Hungry to become what I am not yet and have always been, I put down my pen and wait… and wait…

Immortal beauty boils my blood, blooms in my flesh, illumines my mind and moves me to goodness.

Fleeting beauty nails me to incarnate trinity; body, mind and spirit dance.

What then may I say of beauty? A thistle taring threads from a pristine cloud belly. The scent of stone’s blood before sun showers. Hunger gnawing at my gut for the other side of the night. Beauty is the dark inside of light.
