If everything depends on me
I must live on bended knee
listening for still small voice
to clarify guide my choice
If everything depends on me
I must consent to my duty
serving whatever orders rise
I put my petty wants aside
If everything depends on me
I must decrease consistently
belonging wholly to God’s will
my thoughts action speech and skill
If everything depends on me
I must persist wholeheartedly
faith fastened to God that possesses
all that I am and blesses
whatever work She wroughts through me
enriching my capacity

Jim Manney, SJ’s above question is found in today’s selection in An Ignatian Book of Days by Jim Manney, a series of daily reflections from the Spiritual Wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Throughout the book we hear the voices of St. Ignatius as well as many great thinkers and writers, long gone and present day, each uniquely revealing the way of finding God in all things.And that is my intention; to find God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality in whatever presents itself to me each day in 2024.
