Moral injury occurs when one is expected to engage in behavior that contradicts their values and conscience. I asked myself, on what do I stand? Am I living in integrity with my moral values?

on which to take a stand

Last night I listened to Amy Goodman interview 2d Lt. Joy Metzler, USAF whose faithful active service and critical thinking lead her to request a status change to conscientious objector. Lt. Metzler spoke of “moral injury,” which she explains is not the same as PTSD. Moral injury occurs when one is expected to engage in behavior that contradicts their values and conscience. I asked myself, on what do I stand? Am I living in integrity with my moral values?
