Jeweled Breadcrumb #5 : wisdom gleaned from January 6th, 2021
On January 6, 2021 a mob of angry supporters of the defeated then president Trump attacked the Capitol Building in Washington, DC, attempting to stake their claim on it.
driving in a foreign land
scouring hills and shadowy spaces
with no billboard signing right or left
hostile parties parry
seek a place to stake their star
but ash heaped clouds tower
tumbling rumbling
chasing dark horses to their hiding places
baffling rabble’s seething song
til shrill edge silence stills swollen air
succumbing to battle right versus left
heaven descends denies the rest
cemented in place contestants forget
sun shifts her position
regarding each day anew
Jeweled Breadcrumb
Refusing to to be bound by right or left, wisdom seeks only the sun.
