Clearly ravens are wiser than i, turning nerve-racking weather into sporting challenge.

rowdy wind shreds still morning
raucous ravens pirouette
alarming news shreds my peace
i shudder and shrink

cheeky ravens please
teach me to coast
on blustery currents

tactful ravens please
train me to tumble
taking everything in

wise raven please
make clear the way
laughing at the sky

o to use rowdy wind
alarming news
to practice flight maneuvers
and play

Breadcrumb

The wind is as chilling to me on the outside as the news is distressing me on the inside. Back from a brief blustery walk with Mojo the dog, sitting at my writing desk, this is what I was pondering when a pair of enormous ebony ravens began making fun of the wind … showing off their mid-air gymnastics … laughing at the sky. Clearly ravens are wiser than i, turning nerve-racking weather into sporting challenge.

The assignment that brings me to the writing of these words is to unapologetically tell the story of how God nudges, cajoles, drop kicks and masters me to be the real human being that I am … becoming … following God’s Jeweled Breadcrumbs. My daily writing challenge for 2025 is to share the Breadcrumbs with you.
