Believing has everything to do with data and my head… Knowing has everything to do with experience and my heart… Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have known.
blithe expectation kisses pain
throbbing hope turns blue again
melting crimson bleeds black gold
minted secret of life’s lode
laid before time’s lady fair
redress year’s scratches pearly hair
curse toothless sayer of love’s verse
unspell her form from winter’s curse
knowing …
what is real is never swayed
by brutish winds or even plague
with tide’s virgin host i wait
unwonted guest unspoiled fate
poised aloft moment’s high wire
turn devil’s blues to passion’s fire
knowing …

Breadcrumb
Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. (John 2.29) This is the Bible verse that inspires me this morning, however, I would take it a bit further by replacing the word ‘believed’ with the word ‘know.’ Believing has everything to do with data and my head. I believe the figures on my bank statement are accurate. I believe the GPS system in my car will direct me to my destination. Knowing has everything to do with experience and my heart. I know that there is Something More than the material objects I can weigh and measure because I experience it in the sweet center hidden in pain, in the wild fire that does not consume me, in blooming spaciousness. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have known.
