Jeweled Breadcrumb #31 : playing with God
… remember I cannot hold onto what never belonged to me.
i’ll play with God
let blind men pray
for what they want
but cannot say
seeking searching
for what is
mere flesh and blood
forget to live
each time i loose my mind
to wander
judge it better
to be yonder
ripened fruit
i thirst to taste
from longing’s presence
i am chased
humbly
i must concede
‘twas not my doing
me conceived
nor can i comprehend
sign’s breath
that exhales me
through life to death
despite my temper’s
rivalry
ever i mellow
crane to be
evolution’s
much jeweled cart
to surf swell’s tide
unveil helm’s heart
this unmet i
whom i call me
unstudied
sensitivity
magnet of stars’
starving black hole
slim onion sheath
fattening soul
breathing herself
from in to out
faint wind kisses
fern’s trembling bough
presumed to be
by her effects
measureless being
she begets
might’s multiverse
dwells in a grain
unminding she
sires no name
a subtle hummm
just passing through
no part apart
from absolute
Breadcrumb
I hold my breath for less than two minutes then I must give it away. Lying in bed, I wonder. What is the breath that breathes the first breath? What is the ‘I’ that gives it away? I have watched too many people die. It always happens on the exhale, giving away what was never theirs to keep. Giving away the longing, leaping, tasting, touching, minding multiverse of God’s beyond the box play. Ahhhh, to remember I cannot hold onto what never belonged to me.

The assignment that brings me to the writing of these words is to unapologetically tell the story of how God nudges, cajoles, drop kicks and masters me to be the real human being that I am … becoming … following God’s Jeweled Breadcrumbs. My daily writing challenge for 2025 is to share the Breadcrumbs with you.
