when i was a child i saw the world
as a baseball globe
in the palm of my hand
while a sophomore i saw the world
as a bubbly cauldron rising
birthing itself
today i see the world
as thinness between waving branches
pausing
i nod to the moment
voilá
unseen path opens the way

Breadcrumb

Imagining I can rise to the heights, master the world with my hands or my head, leads to endless effort. What good is it. Better to see the trees right in front of me, and wait. Wait until wind kisses the branches, unclosing the way.

Thank you for reading these words,

The assignment that brings me to the writing of these words is to unapologetically tell the story of how God nudges, cajoles, drop kicks and masters me to be the real human being that I am … becoming … following God’s Jeweled Breadcrumbs. My daily writing challenge for 2025 is to share the Breadcrumbs with you.
