being is
always becoming
never a fly in amber
being is
always becoming
Folks ask me, “What are you going to do… with your sabbatical? with your life?” It irks me. Even Mary Oliver, one of my favorite poets, spills sand between my teeth when she concludes her poem “The Summer Day” this way.
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
Dare I boldly breathe being into Oliver’s words they would live this way.
Tell me, how will you allow your one
wild and precious life to radiate through you?
