At every moment of our existence God is communicating to us who God is, is trying to draw us into an awareness, a consciousness of the reality of who we are in God’s sight. Whether we are aware of it or not, at every moment of our existence we are encountering God… who is trying to draw us into a reciprocal conscious relationship. William Berry, SJ

from the corner of my eye
i see
dawn’s green edge
skirting by me
steering thin thread
of naught to all
bringing home
divine windfall

who am i
that You should seek
my attention
care to keep?
compared to others
i am not great
yet no measure
do you take

no thing is better
best or worse
in Your peerless universe
boundless wind
bends willow fronds
i bend Your ear
we all belong

William Berry, SJ’s quote is found in today’s selection in An Ignatian Book of Days by Jim Manney is a series of daily reflections from the Spiritual Wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Throughout the book we hear the voices of St. Ignatius as well as many great thinkers and writers, long gone and present day, each uniquely revealing the way of finding God in all things. And that is my intention; to find God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality in whatever presents itself to me each day in 2024.

Each day I read, reflect and write on the selection, hoping to articulate the ways in which I come to know God/Divine Presence/Ultimate Reality via personal experience, impelled by the leading of my inner life.
